I recently had one of my readers write and ask me the following regarding this popular video and larger marketing of sexual imagery to children:
“For those of you who believe that the play boys of the world and the internet, the magazines, music videos, sexualized content on the tv, social media etc. is fine and in that, good, and the female body is good to look at, all that, what do you think about the WAP song and music video? This is the type of content that our youth is seeing today. This is the type of songs that play over the radio, Spotify, YouTube, that many children have access to. Would you consider this modern day “walking past a x rates video store, or play boy images” etc.? Harmless and natural for a young boy (and older men for that matter) to watch and be turned on and masterbate to? How do you dads feel about this content (and so much more like it) being shared and thrown in our children’s faces? I’m also trying to decide how I feel about it and how much I need to monitor my son, my future children, how to have conversations about this content etc. and would love you men’s opinion. Thanks in advance!”
My Response to the WAP Video
In a previous article I wrote for Christian wives entitled “A Biblical Guide to Seducing your Husband“, I made the following introductory statement:
“For a woman, the difference between “slutty” and “sexy” is one word – Marriage. Proverbs 5:19 tells husbands to be ravished with their wife’s love. For a man to be ravished he must be seduced.”
I am not naïve. I know the women in the video where talking about being whores and having sex outside of marriage. Something all us as Christians should oppose. But could a Christian wife redeem and even mimic such dancing and such speech with her husband? Of course she could.
And in the context of porn, could Christian man watch such a video, and reimagine it as if his current or future wife was dancing for him that way and saying those things and then masturbate to it? Absolutely! And there would be no sin in it.
In my article guiding Christian women on how to seduce their husbands, I take women through several passages in the Song of Solomon which give women examples on how to be seductive and sexy with their husbands. Many Christians are mortally offended to hear that women were talking about their wet pussies. But in the Song of Solomon the wife talks about her wet pussy:
“I would lead thee, and bring thee into my mother’s house, who would instruct me: I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine of the juice of my pomegranate.”
Song of Solomon 8:2 (KJV)
The pomegranate was ancient middle eastern euphemism for a woman’s vulva including her vagina. In ancient middle eastern speak, the wife was saying “I want you to eat my pussy juice”.
Another passage illustrates a woman having her fingers dripping with something and we know what this referring to:
“I rose up to open to my beloved; and my hands dropped with myrrh, and my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the handles of the lock.”
Song of Solomon 5:5 (KJV)
Myrrh was another euphemism for a woman’s vaginal fluids. The picture here is one of her literally opening herself (spreading open her legs and pussy) and fingering herself getting her pussy juice allover her and hands fingers.
In another passage of Song of Solomon the husband says this:
“Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, I will get me to the mountain of myrrh, and to the hill of frankincense.”
Song of Solomon 4:6 (KJV)
What is “mountain” and “hill” are two additional euphemisms for a woman’s pubic mound. In other words it is another euphemism for a woman’s pussy. And the myrrh here is yet again another reference to her pussy juices. The man is literally saying “I want to eat and enjoy the sent of my wife’s pussy and pussy juices all night long!”.
My point in all this is that the actions and words of the WAP video, if used in the context of fantasy within marriage or actual marriage would not be sinful at all. In fact it would be holy and righteous on the part of a wife to intoxicate her husband sexually with such mannerisms.
But then we must address the issue of the video being marketed to children.
I find it highly inappropriate and wrong that this type of imagery is just shoved in the faces of our children. I believe that preteens or teens should be able to look at porn online. However, they should be the one’s seeking it out on their own when they are ready. Not having it shoved in their faces when they are 5 years old.
This is why I believe it is perfectly consistent to believe there is a proper place and time for viewing porn, while at the same time I can be appalled at them shoving the WAP song and music video in small children’s faces.
But while I would be appalled for a 5 year old boy to witness this video, if the video was not pushed on prime time network TV or on kids networks and it was kept only to late night times or on the internet where it would have to be searched for – then I don’t have a problem with it. If the 11 or 12 year old boy in his curiosity about women went looking for it online, found it and masturbated to it – then no harm no foul in my view.
He is made by God to seek out the beauty of woman, to enjoy it and masturbate to it. There is no shame in that.
