What Is The Purpose of the Porn to the Glory of God Community?
In 1 Corinthians 11:7-9 the Bible states the following:
“For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.”
The passage above answers the most important question any person can ever ask and that question is “What is the meaning of life?” The answer is that God created men and women to bring him glory – in very different ways.
But before I can explain to you what the different ways are in which God meant for men and women to bring him glory I need to clear up some confusion many people have about men and women in God’s creation.
The Bible says in Genesis 9:6 “…for in the image of God made he man”. Man in this passage actually means “mankind” which includes both men and women. But then we have the passage above from 1 Corinthians 11:7-9 which uses a different word. It contrasts man (the male human being) from woman (the female human being). It says of the male human being that he is not just made “IN” the image of God, but that he is “IS” the image and glory of God. And then it uses the word “but”, to denote that what has just been said of the male human being is not true of the female human being. It states “but the woman is the glory of the man”.
What this means is that while man and woman are both made “IN” the image of God, man “IS” the image of God in a way woman is not. It means that while men and women share God’s image in their common human attributes, it is the masculine human nature which most closely reflects God’s nature. This is the reason that God’s titles in the Bible are always masculine – father, son, king and not mother, daughter and queen.
And now I can tie all this together to explain what the Bible is saying here is the meaning of life for men and then for women.
1 Corinthians 11:7-9 teaches us that If you are born in a male human body, God created you to image him and thereby bring him glory. To “image” him means to live out his attributes with your life. Some of those attributes include God being a worker, a husband to his people and a father to his people. And so men are called to live out these attributes in their lives.
But there is another set of attributes that men are called to live out as they fulfill their overall created purpose to image God with their lives. The first of those attributes is seen in Psalm 149:4:
“For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.”
God loves pleasure. And he seeks to take pleasure in his people. Throughout the Bible God’s relationship to us individuals is picture as that of a father to his child. But God’s relationship to his people as a group is pictured as that of husband to his wife.
And this is why God placed in man the desire to take pleasure in woman. Literally a man’s desire to take pleasure in a woman’s body is a direct reflection of the masculine nature of God within him.
But then there is a second attribute of God which is reflected in the desires of the masculine human nature and that is shown to us in Psalm 45:10-11:
“Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father’s house;
So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.”
The passage above is speaking of the relationship of God as a husband to his people. It reveals to us another aspect of God’s masculine nature. And that aspect is God’s desire for beauty. Why are men so drawn to the beauty of a woman’s body? Why do we as men study the unique characteristics of a woman’s body in the say way a diamond cutter closely studies a diamond? It is because God designed us to. It is a reflection of his masculine desire for beauty.
And this is the central purpose for this community. To allow men a place to discuss and exercise their desire to pleasure woman and enjoy her beauty.
But before I conclude we need to talk about woman’s created purpose. Woman was created for man to be his helper (Genesis 2:18), companion (Malachi 2:14), the mother of his children (1 Timothy 5:14) and caretaker of his home (Titus 2:5).
1 Corinthians 11:9 says “Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man”. Romans 1:27 tells us that sex is “the natural use of the woman” and in Proverbs 5:19 the Bible encourages men “satisfy” their sexual desires with their wives body. Song of Song of Solomon 5:1 refers to a woman’s body as a man’s “garden” with its many delights.
These passages above reveal to us that woman was also created to bring man pleasure, specifically sexual pleasure.
Can Men Go Overboard in Seeing Women as Sex Objects?
Based upon all the Scriptures we have presented here one could rightly conclude that we in this community do not see it as wrong for men to see women as sex objects. It is a biological fact that men do. It is Biblically allowable and men bring glory to God in enjoying women in this manner.
But we do not deny that some men go beyond their God given design to see women as sex objects in that they ONLY see women as sex objects and nothing more. Serial whoremongers and rapists only see women as sex objects and not as people as well. But a healthy and normal man will be able to see women as both sex objects and as people.
Some men are afraid that if they allow themselves to freely enjoy porn they will become like some of these horrible men that are whoremongers or rapists. They have actually been told this by their churches or other people. This is NOT true. Men who are serial whoremongers or rapists already had this sinful corruption in them before they ever laid eyes on porn. In other words, the porn did not make them do it. The truth is that in many cases, porn actually has held these bad types of men back from actually acting in wrong ways toward women. It is a fact that in countries that do not allow porn, rape rates are ALWAYS higher.
